This role is a part-time role for the next two years, with the possibility of becoming an extended role in the future, if needed, and funding is available.

Primary Purpose:

As a Teacher Apprentice Coordinator, your job will be to support our teacher residents to ensure maximum impact and benefit from their training and the successful implementation of their learning within the school district. Working with the programs team at the Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs), you will help ensure that learning outcomes and objectives for the Strategic Staffing Grant are met, and the requirements of the MOU between LPS and the EPPs are met.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Valid Texas teaching license

Principal certificate preferred

Experience:

Experience in adult learning in an education setting

Experience delivering high quality adult learning/training and proven ability to facilitate engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking discussion among diverse audiences and to use questioning techniques to identify solutions and actions rather than taking a wholly directive approach

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional and Program Management

  1. Establish and maintain key relationships; collaborate with program faculty.
  2. Draw on personal experience and academic concepts to deliver highly engaging and thought-provoking program sessions.
  3. Attend all program sessions and work as a team to effectively facilitate program delivery as needed, helping to drive coherence, and meaning across the curriculum.
  4. Support overall curriculum design and development of new teachers.
  5. Assist with the preparation of all instructional materials including presentations, handouts, etc. for each learning session and/or event.
  6. Provide feedback to campus level staff as needed.
  7. Continuously work to improve your coaching skills.
  8. Work with talented, mission-driven peers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
  10. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
